The writing, Novus Ordo Seclorum, which is also an inspiration for the film being on one dollar bill, is a Latin statement. The exact translation is “New World Order”. Symbolically, one eye is on the top of a half of the pyramid watches the world.
The main theme of the film is the idea of making a film by using the cameras which surround us in order to provide security. The moment when we go out we are being watched for our security in the streets, on the public transportation, at the stations, at the hospitals, at the banks, at the schools, at the works. The utopia, was predicted by George Orwell and Zamyatin, is getting real. The critical balances about the privacy of private life has been tried to be changed legally for the reason of security towards terror. The short film is aimed to show the frightening dimensions of the “watching” understanding which is legitimized. Whenever our hero goes out, he is watched and is recorded. Our watching hero is everyone in his daily life, in his house, at his work and at his school. The one has been seen on the street by the watching hero, is murdered. The moment of the crime was censured by an unknown power at the end of the film as it is understood. The spectator is being watched by the time they watch the watching hero on the screen. But, the watching is not over here; in the second part of the film there is a police who watches the spectators in front of an editing bench. It is sure that the third eye watches the police. The film consists of three finals. At the end of the film the spectator will understand that he is watching the film via the third eye. The film is a pointer of the limitation of the person’s movement in art, culture and every aspect of his life by the third eye of the system.
In near future, the security records of an intellectual’s crime in our country couldn’t be found. At this point, the question is remembered “Why are we being watched?”. Who created the lives being edited on the editing bench and presented?
